Full Flower Moon May 29, 2018 in Sagittarius

Time to Recharge Your Batteries!

The May Full Moon falls in the sign of Sagittarius on the 29. This is the month of the Full Flower Moon. Can you guess how this full Moon got its name? That’s right –Flowers as Flowers are becoming abundant now. They are literally everywhere. It can also be known as the Corn Planting Moon, the Milk Moon, and the Hare Moon.  This is possibly the best time of year as it’s not too cold or too hot.  Flowers are all around us and it’s a very joyful time.

You don't have to be a werewolf to feel restless when the full moon rises. A new study in the journal Current Biology suggests that people tend to get lower quality sleep around the time of full moons, sleeping an average of 20 minutes less than they do during a new moon.  Check out my article on Does the Full Moon make you exhausted.

The Earth is most fertile right now so it’s time to start planting! It’s a great night to plant something in the garden. Get a baby sapling and plant it in honor of the Flower Moon! Bring fresh flowers into your house, or design a headband made of flowers for yourself.

The Flower Moon also symbolizes us humans. Like the flowers, it is time for us to blossom, to grow day by day by soaking up the sun’s rays, and to gather our energy from it.

Whatever it is that needs doing – whatever it is you’ve been avoiding – it’s time to take responsibility. Make a plan to pay up, or you may have to face the consequences of your inaction.

The full moon also symbolizes shining a light on our darkest days and illuminating the deepest and darkest corners of ourselves, allowing the light of awareness in the darkest places of ignorance, shame, guilt, and embarrassment. The Flower Moon is there to assist us in shedding our outer skin as a form of renewal.

The energy on the night of a full moon is very powerful. It’s a perfect night to recharge your energy.

Things To Do During A Full Moon!
Start With:

  • Cleansing Your Spirit
  • Clean out your Emails. Make folders and place important emails into their allotted folder.  Delete everything else.
  • Clean out at least one closet and drawer
  • Clean off the clutter around your sleeping area
  • Clean out old papers and receipts
  • If you have moved into a new place, or have had an argument in your home, you might want to give it a smudge to clear negative energy.

The full Moon is the perfect time to give thanks to all that has been helping you such as god, your angels, ancestors and spirit guides.  We tend to forget to be grateful and I believe the full Moon is the perfect time to show gratitude for what we have.  Some people believe you have to have everything before you can be grateful, but that is untrue.  Being grateful when you do not have everything you want is when you start seeing the miracles happen in your life.

Light a candle and give thanks on the full Moon.  You may be surprised at how things start changing.

So on this full moon let the emphasis be on you! Use this time to draw down the energy of the moon and empower yourself for what you wish throughout the month.

To celebrate the Flower Moon, you can start lighting a bonfire when the sun goes down. Use fire to guide the way on your path.  You can also have a burning bowl ceremony to release what you do not need.

The colors for this Full Moon are: Red, Orange, and Yellow.

The Stones: Ruby, Amber, and Garnet.

The herbs: Cinnamon and Mint.

Tree: Hawthorne

The power animal for this Moon Cycle is the Horse!

Element: Fire

This is it folks! This full moon sees your streak of rebelliousness creeping out on you.  You can no longer tolerate the mundane and might impulsively ride on a galloping horse towards unchartered territories just for the heck of it. The full moon in all its fiery glory wants you to stop procrastinating and step into a world of new expansive experiences and adventures.  All those months that you had been afraid to try something new, the full moon in Sagittarius is beckoning you to do it.  You might want to get a complete makeover, take up diving, travel to places you have never been before, learn a new sport, and generally just take some risks and get out of your comfort zone.  Yes spontaneity rules at this full moon

Do remember though, that this full moon is governed by the duality of the half man half horse sign of Sagittarius and requires you to reassess this thirst for adventure and your devil-may-care attitude with a more balanced attitude.  Be careful and rethink the difference between the need to take on the world with bold confidence versus your deluded sense of adventure which could be a guise for escapism.

I am restless, but in a way that I have learned to accept. Thoughts and ideas fill my head and I tend to go off exploring deeper for the best solution for many tasks before I dive in with passion to complete each task. Basically in a nutshell, I’d be observed as ADHD, but I am not….just FULL with energy from the moon that affects my being. Love it! This moon too, appears within my sign, Sagittarius…priceless! I am going to compare my first 2 rows of corn I planted 7 days ago to the progress of the 2 rows I plant on arrival of th Flower Moon
