Full Moon December 29, 2020 in Cancer

The last full moon of the year occurs on December 29, 2020, and is in the sign of Cancer.

Most everyone is happy to say goodbye to the year 2020.. What a year it has been!  We never could have envisioned that the whole world would turn topsy turvy.  Even though this year has turned things upside down for so many of us, it is important we look back on the gifts, even if they are hard to find.

What gifts were sent your way this year? What did you learn? What did you discover? How have you grown?

No matter what ups or downs you faced this year, chances are you have something in your life to be grateful for. Chances are there is a bit of love, hope, and joy just waiting to be tapped into.

The December 29-30 Full Moon arrives in the sign of Cancer. There is this sense of heightened emotions bubbling under this final full Moon of the year.

The blessings are being bestowed upon us in a powerful way on this full Moon.  December's cold Moon is a good time to evaluate the ordeals and trials of this past year.  Again look for what was a blessing.

Can you feel the tension, truth, and emotions arise? This last full moon of the year often gives way to a lot of emotions we have hidden! Not to worry!  Let the light into your heart and you will find your own truth. Find the spark of joy that is within you.

Your head may feel a little busy and our sub-conscious is out on the full show. What was hidden is now revealed and you will need to deal with it! We will all react differently to this. Some may feel exuberant and free, others tired and teary, some are hiding under the sheets, others shouting to the rooftops. So embrace whatever comes your way on this full Moon!

The Moon is very feminine; it’s all about our feelings being expressed and verbalized. Your head may feel a little busy and our sub-conscious is out on the full show. What was hidden is now revealed and you will need to deal with it! We will all react differently to this.

In Native American cultures which tracked the calendar by the Moons, December’s Full Moon was known as the Full Cold Moon. It is fittingly associated with the month when winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark.  Another name for this full Moon is Long Night Moon which is a doubly appropriate name because the midwinter night is indeed long, and because the Moon is above the horizon for a long time. Other names for The December Full Moon are Oak Moon, Winter Moon, and Wolf Moon. This is the time of the Dark Lord, with the Oak being his symbol. It is the time of rebirth.

The term Long Night Moon is a doubly appropriate name because the midwinter night is indeed long, and because the Moon is above the horizon for a long time. The midwinter full Moon has a high trajectory across the sky because it is opposite a low Sun.

The week of the Full Moon is filled with blessings from The Divine. So take some time to stop in the midst of the chaos of the holidays and appreciate all of the spiritual blessings that are coming to us at this time.
