Get ready for an exciting New Moon July 31, 2019 in Leo.  We have so much going on with this new Moon; it is also a Black Moon because it is the Second New Moon in July.  This is not an ominous sign from spirit but rather a positive energetic time.  We also have a Supermoon!   July 31 marks the end of Mercury Retrograde!  This is a powerful and potent time.  Well all of us lunar lovers can agree that we must harness all this powerful energy for our good. I have the perfect Intuitive Reading to go along with this special Black New Moon and Supermoon.

The most common and widely accepted definition of a black moon is a second new moon that occurs during one month, which definitely explains where it got its name from. To make things simple, it's essentially the opposite of a blue moon. With the moon indulging in a little more alone time than usual, it's a month full of more pitch black skies than usual. This is a relatively rare occurrence and it only happens about once every 29 months.

Depending on where you live worldwide, the new moon falls on July 31 or August 1, 2019. Again, depending on where you live, this new moon is either the second of two July 2019 new moons, or the first of two August 2019 new moons. Either way, the second of two new moons in one calendar month is called a Black Moon. Here, in the United States, the Black Moon falls on July 31. In the world’s Eastern Hemisphere, the Black Moon falls in late August, instead of late July

This new moon is also a supermoon, that is, a new moon at it’s nearest to Earth for that monthly orbit.  Supermoons are folklore, like Blue Moons or Black Moons or the beloved Harvest Moons.

The ‘hive mind’ that exists among family members will be literally buzzing on overdrive! Chinese astrology associates this new Moon with the ‘spirit of the ancestors’. Breaking out of any undesirable infantile behavior patterns will be hard work at this time. On the positive side, a new moon in Leo has an almost religious reverence towards the older generations.

This new Moon has great focus on acquiring material wealth. This may be through material inheritance or through an inherited character trait or talent. Whatever the case, family loyalty and values are tested at this time, as is the importance of passing something of value down to one’s descendants. One problem at this new moon is that you may be pressured to identify strongly with the family clan.

This ancestral connection brings our spirit guides closer to us. It’s comforting to feel someone has your back and this gives one greater confidence. The negative side of this new moon could dredge out all the nasty family skeletons and ignite some bitter family feuds. On the positive side, this could be an amazing time to find and reconnect with long-lost and missed members of your family clan.

The new moon is an important time to set your intentions for the month, to start anew with fresh goals in mind, and to have a ceremony or ritual that wipes the slate clean. The black moon only amplifies this cleansing energy, dragging your deepest strengths and desires to the forefront, uninhibited.

It’s possible that this moon will pull out your darkest feelings, your scariest skeletons, everything that you keep hidden and would rather continue to avoid. It's a time that drama might ensue, for all the negative emotions of the spectrum, like envy, hatred, and revenge, will sit at the surface of everything. It's recommended that you remain patient during this time and to think twice before going through with a risky action. These unflattering emotions are a product of pain and if we embrace them with full-force, they will only breed more pain. However, they have to be released sometime, and the black moon is here to help with the purging process.
