How appropriate that the Sturgeon Full Moon August 15 is in the sign Aquarius. The symbol for Aquarius is the Water Bearer, symbolically and eternally giving life and spiritual food to the world. The water from the vessel washes away the past, leaving room for a fresh, new start. The sign of Aquarius is forward-looking and growth-oriented.

After the rough month of July the sturgeon is swimming into our lives to show us that we are stronger than we think.  The sturgeon is a tough fish that can live up to 140 years.  You survived last month and you will make it through the coming months this year.

This should be of great encouragement as so many people are going through difficult times in their lives and this Full Moon is all about survival.  If you are feeling despondent take time and do some prayers on this Full Moon and ask for the strength of the sturgeon to pull you through any remaining obstacles in your life.

The August Full Sturgeon Moon is named after the Native Americans. The Great blue Lakes are filled with life. The Sturgeon is a large fish often spotted in these lakes. The message is clear. The Waters are calm and seem to connect all nature. The Lakes seem to "communicate" will all waters, the seas, the rainfalls, the rivers and the oceans. Everything is connected. We are the Sturgeons who swim in these Lakes.

We are full of energy and know we are ready to make a step further. Using the energy of the Sturgeon Moon we can connect better with each other and look for people who share the same interests as us!

I feel that the main purpose of acknowledging the Full Moon, by prayer or ceremony, is to give you that lunar dose of spiritual energy to get you through to the next full Moon.

Take this opportunity to let go of old pain, release what bogs you down, and open your mind to renewed flexibility and clarity.

Take time on August 15 and go to a quiet place to pray, meditate or anything else that feels right to you and trust that all that is Divine will be there for you.  The Divine Loving Spirits do want to help and they just wait for you to ask and show a bit of reverence for what they do for you.

Great waves of life are flowing all around us at this time.  August is a powerful month of releasing and reevaluating your life.  It’s time to let go of anything that is holding you back because you want to be open and ready for the new energies that are coming in at this point in the year.

Your relationship with your emotions might be more complicated, because Moon in Aquarius has a strong need for emotional freedom. However, when you are in a group of people, it is easier for you to understand your feelings and free yourself from negative emotions such as fear, anger and jealousy.

I recommend that you put your crystals in salt for three days prior to the full Moon.  Salt will remove any energies that have collected on your crystals.  You can use sea salt or just regular salt.  On the day of the Full Moon rinse them off and put them in a container outside or in a window that receives moonlight.  The moonlight will charge your crystals and give them the energy/vibration to start working with you in a more powerful way

This moon is also known as the Full Red moon because of the heat that makes the moon appear red and hazy. In European nations, it was named Green Corn Moon after the corns that have green leaves and grains at its highest peaks.
